Front Porch Swing

It’s a soothing thing
Our front porch swing

The back-and-forth motion
Like the sway of an ocean

The conversations taking place
As you swing, keeping pace

Visitors will come and go
While Big Sister sits and sews

Always content to Share a seat
With neighbors across the street

Sitting, rocking
A little bit of talking

Come on over and sit a spell
Share your secrets; I won’t tell

You’ll find the experience calms you down
And puts a smile on your face instead of a frown
