There was a family of turtles sunning on the rocks
A fisherman nearby fishing off the docs
the sound of geese talking in the background
easily heard they’re the only one making sound
theres a solitude while just sitting here
But the turtle slide in the water when I venture near
I was only going in for a closer look
Probably should have sat quietly reading my book
My cork starts bobbing up and down
I reach my pole and bring it around
I sees the bright color of the fish I caught
he was small but boy he fought
I cast the line in and pull the pole back
I watch the turtles as they all swim back
The Turtles are sitting on the log now soaking up some sun
I love coming to turtle creek when I’m the only one
