The Key Word

I have no words to say today
A broken heart now my display

I never saw it coming, but it was there
I was preoccupied with my own cares

How did it all fall apart
Leaving a trail of broken hearts

Silence was deafening
A face slapping sting

Stunned and shocked
Now the doors locked

Only you hold the key
To open the door for me

I can’t unlock it from my side
If I could, it would swing open wide

I won’t let ugly words roam free
When in the end, it only hurts me

Silently I’ll Hold my head up upright
Until I’m too tired to keep up the fight

Use your key and unlock the door
Restore our lives as before
