Crickets start the music with Their beautiful sound
The croaking tree frogs join from the background
a natural virtuoso on this sultry summer eve
makes you sit and listen long after you want to leave
Old hoot owl chiming in from the old oak tree
cause the dogs to add their voice and entertain me
how many porches are occupied this night
listening to familiar sounds that come and bring delight
before the orchestra starts winding down
You slowly get up with a sad frown
It’s quickly replaced with a big smile
it’s just in intermission You’ll be back in a while
