Lady Blue

Blue Bonnets

The Texas bluebonnet inspires a sonnet
Little pioneer women in icy bluebonnets

A blanket of deep Blue, showstoppers in motion
Rolling on a hillside as vast as an ocean

The bluebonnet thrives on adversity
She’s a hardy girl. She likes drought, you see

Royally she stands at attention as if she glued
Miss bonnet is a tough woman; she’s always true blue

When lady Blue dies, she leaves her home better
Then the day she found it because she was no quitter

So loyally, lady bluebonnets stand together
Whatever comes next, they know they can weather

Bluebonnets rolling down the hill
Today when I see them, they calm me still

  2. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to produce a very good article… but what can I say… I put
things off a whole lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.
