Rainy Day Dream

On a rainy day, I dream away
Because I can’t go out and play

I’m building a home on a hillside ridge
With a trail below, across a wooden bridge

The burning soft glow of the sun when it rises
It makes me sigh, brings tears to my eyes

I look out an opened window to a field below
Full of colorful wildflowers, I watch them grow

Honey bees doing an artful dance
In an open field, I spy a horse prance

The chirping sounds from the morning birds
A pleasant sound to my ear heard

The scene before me fills my senses
An open view, with no borders or fences

A paradise where peace exists
No angry voices, no raised fist

The sun will soon shine, bringing me delight
Taking away dark days, entirely out of sight

So, on a rainy day, I dream away
Because It keeps the blues at bay
