Pink Flamingo

There’s not a bird quite like the pink flamingo
You’ll see her strutting around putting on a show

She loves wading in water with her neck held up high
To catch the attention of all passerby’s

Fancy pink feathers and a boomerang-shaped nose
Legs like stilts and funny shaped toes

Flamingos have long graceful necks and slender legs
They usually only lay one large egg

They prefer to hang out with buddies, and make friends easily
One of the most social birds that you’ll ever see

The name “flamingo” comes from Spanish meaning “flame-colored bird
Nicknamed water nymphs was another name I am told

Many people wonder why the flamingo is reddish-pink
It’s from eating so much plankton and crustaceans I think

The Flamingo was designed by our loving God so spectacularly
One day we’ll see them in bright pink perfection and I can’t wait to see
