Once Upon a Wintertime

Once upon a wintertime
The winter snow was so sublime

Its elegance would sparkle so
As it fell it would glisten and glow

At the front door, anxious children would pile
With gloves and hats and great big smiles

A snowball fight in the winter weather
Freezing toes but oh, so much pleasure

Sometimes mama would make snow ice cream
As we all warmed up by the fireplace screen

Drying wet socks, hats, and mismatched gloves
Ready to get back to the games we loved

Remembering Now those fun days in wintertime
Where some of the best days when I was in my prime
