Moving Mountains

There was a phrase my mother used to say

You can move a mountain when it’s in your way

I thought it was a joke; indeed, it wasn’t real

who could move a mountain, much less a small hill

Moving a mountain seems impossible indeed

But it makes you feel determined to succeed

Mother put a task before us and gave us a goal

You start by using kind words to a lost, sad soul

Change the frown you see on their face

Watch kind words; the sadness erase

you can move a mountain of their anxiety

Turn the frown into a smile for everyone to see

Nothing is impossible, not even a mountainside

The trick is to use kind words and open your heart wide

That is how you move a mountain from here to there

your kindness turns a frown into a smile, showing them you care
