Mother Mended Usđź’•

There were always patches on our clothes
hiding lots of little rips and holes

we never knew our clothes weren’t new
we thought we were the privileged few

How could we ever have known
in your world, we did not belong

we felt we were the fortunate ones
mom kept on mending until it was done

mother gave us everything we needed
no not wants that others feed on

Our mother Knew we would be ok
she herself had been raised that way

a mother uses-what she has to give
It shows her children how to live

she gave all she had and added some ♥️
no other family would I wanted to have been a part

Thank you, mama, for all you gave us
showing us what all mothers should be made of
