Loving Mama

The love for a mother is a tender thing
the feeling in your heart when you hear her sing

even when she’s in the kitchen doing her cooking
somehow you just can’t stop from looking

there’s a smile on her face it makes you wonder what she’s thinking
as she’s mixing up those pies and continues with her baking

So many small children running under her feet
today’s woman would throw the towel up in defeat

it took a special kind of mother back in the day
she put up with all of us and could still be OK

no screaming or yelling or threatening us
a mother today would be very jealous

because the love of my mother comes from watching her each day
Sadly we don’t say “I love you mom “ before she passes away

so tell your mom you love her and always do your part

Then watch the tears fall down her face when your words reach the heart
