She could see the fog as it was billowing forth
The wind had whipped through her; it came in from the north
The smell of salt in the water acrid to her nose
The feel of the water spray dripping down to her toes
Standing on the deck headed for the gateway
Returning from the boat now docked by the bay
Finally sprung free from the constraints she had endured
Her hand slid, rubbing the area where pain most occurred
Free at last, she could escape
Running, winds flying through her cape
Don’t look back
At the attack
Run ahead as fast as you can
Away from man’s inhumanity to man
Escape from a painful past
At least you’ll find peace at last
