E L E P H A N T S

Elephants are the largest land animals there are
Nine tons of fun there the heaviest animal by far

wide flat ears and a very long trunk
they like to play together they have a lot of spunk

They can crack a peanut in nothing flat
the sound they make is similar to a purring cat

they will touch each other‘s faces when they meet
or intertwine their trunks Like a handshake when they greet

the old female called a cow is the leader of the group
they march in single file like a sergeants army troup

the elephants’ memory is one of her best features
it helps the herd when they are being pursued by vicious creatures

Elephants stick together all their lifelong
They’d rather be in Africa right where they belong

there has never been a more beautiful design
as seeing two elephants when their trunks are entwined
