Caregivers
He always knew there would be no life for himself
Caring for his father, the sons’ dreams are shelved
No dances, no dates, no staying out late
No chance of sharing meals with a date
Sacrifice means giving something up for another
Someone special like a father or a mother
He would never marry or pass on his name
Burdens sometimes come with no fame
Was it worth it to give your whole life
For the love of another, easing his strife
A clean conscience comes with caring and giving
So another can have a life worth living
Some are doctors, some nurses, or a friend
Desperate patients hoping for pains end
You never know where sacrifices come from
It took love and devotion to aid his loved one
Perhaps we might need the same help someday
Hopefully, someone steps up and compassion displays
