Bus Driver (Mr. Socks)

The little yellow school bus came to the house each day
picking up us children and carrying us away

Off we went to the little country school
back when I was little and I thought school was cool

Mr. Socks was what we all called him
maybe we didn’t know his full name then

no matter the child he greeted each with a smile
picking up children every two or 3 miles

hello there kiddos go find your seat
every day that’s the way he would greet

Every rider loved Mr. socks who drove our bus
he was always careful to take good care of us

up and down the dusty, bumpy country roads
He always glanced in his mirror to check on us as he drove

Year after year Mr. socks was there
Our friendly school bus driver who sincerely did care

Mr. Sock’s Bus
