Broken

There is unexplored anguish at my door
My mind says stay away, but my heart
wants to know more

You inwardly try to sort feelings out
But inside, you desire to scream and
shout

The deception felt is on yourself
When callous words Got off the shelf

The guilt lies at my own feet
Now My house suffered defeat

The blocks will not stack up like before
The shape formerly present is no more

A river of tears will not mend
Broken hearts left over in the end

Even with time, when the wound heals
The scar stays there to reveal

The vulnerable person inside
You could not permanently hide

Now, in the end,
you haven’t one single friend
In which you can confide

Disconnected and broken
Going through the motions, your
Only token

What is there left to say
My broken bird flew away
