MOMS APRON
My mother wore an apron over every dress she had
It wasn’t to put on a fashion show or start a trendy fad
My mama was a model but not the city kind
A fancy dress and high heels on her you wouldn’t find
She walked the runway daily and tirelessly I will add
As she showed off golden biscuits she’d just made for my dad
Her aprons came in colors of reds and greens and grays
She wore it tied around her waist that was my mamas way
My mother was a model of how a women should act
To gain her daughters trust and show us how to use tact
Humility and kindness it was tied up in her heart
She never spoke unkindly in vain ways she took no part
When mom hung up her apron on a hook up by her bed
It was only after making sure we were fed and put to bed
My mama wore an apron tied on early in the morning ready to go
She walked the runway everyday and showed us how she stole the show
Lovely!!
