The Past Begins

It is our past that shapes our future
The times when we hold tight to endure

We grasp at the memories; they push us forward
We grab hold tight no time to be a coward

Most of the life fights are inward-born
Life’s daily struggles on the inside worn

Only we can salvage ourselves
Write the book for a future shelf

Crying and struggling to stay afloat
Paddling hard in our sinking boat

Days we gather to our chest
Sadness and loss of our personality test

The end of the matter rests within
What have we created in our pen

Days seem to drift along quietly
The sadness of the melody sets us free

Keeping our feelings locked inside
Wrapped in silence, we tend to hide

When the opportunity passed us by
Too late now, I hear myself sigh

Don’t let the days pass you by
Causing you to regret and cry

Take the time to make a good plan
After all, it’s your life in your hands
