The cowboy works a long hard day
From sunrise to sunset is the cowboy way
They dawn their cowboy hat on top their ears
It’s soiled and dirty and yes a little dog eared
Boots scuffed up but ready to scoot along
You might hear him whistling or singing a rowdy
Song
Roping and riding and branding calves hides
A thick little smoke rises from its side
So the mark is made and everyone knows
If the cow gets lost they know where it belongs
The cowboy saddles up for the day
Chasing little doggies on a winding pathway
The cowboy takes in the countryside.
He’s amazed by the land and the rivers wide
His faithful dog by his side will play
As the cowboy goes along his cowboy way
