Sweet Joy

I have a sweet niece who’s a special woman
When she was small she always seemed timid

Always hanging in the back of a group
She never was at the head of the troup

She quietly stood back and took it all in
Life dictated to her and said she would never win

But this beautiful girl with a heart of gold
Somehow found the courage she needed to be bold

She learned to mother but not by example she could copy
Her name was appropriate because Joy she would embody

She followed the steps her grandmother would heed
Swore in her heart others would not be in need

As long as she could muster the strength
She would help others and go the full length

Many depend on that Sweet Joy, now grown
Anywho meet her should be glad to have known

That sweet little Joy and the seeds she has sown
Every family should have Joy as their own
