Older Ones

Sometimes life just doesn’t seem fair
You loose your teeth And you loose your hair

You go to take a step but the steps not there
You climb a flight of stairs it leaves you gasping for air

You might even think you just want to quit
But There is a better-way to look at it

You’ve had a life full of experience you can share
There’s still a few young folks who just might care

The way things in our life used to be
Has disappeared and youths may never see

Things like working hard in a field with a horse
Gave you direction and taught you to follow a course

Hard work and appreciation go hand in hand
There was beauty of working a hard day on the land

Nothing was free we took nothing for granted
The whole family worked on a garden they planted

You’ve earned every wrinkle that covers your face
Every line represents a time and place

So when you get down and think life is not fair
Remember all the days of your youth you can share

You just might be surprised and find a young one who cares
