My Big Sister

Sister My Sister

Sister theirs no greater friend
You lift me up and help me mend

My heart when I am feeling down
No better friend can there be found

We talk of many simple things
Mostly past adventures and things

You know me better than all others
Except of course our precious mother

We’ve seen our days of flowing tears
Because of the loss we’ve seen through the years

We may not talk for many days
We pick up where we left off that’s our way

When I was young you were there for me
I didn’t always know how I should be

I was confused which road to take
I tried to watch the decisions you would make

Life was hard for us four young girls
You were the leader in our small world

You paved the way and it wasn’t easy
There was no older sister for you to see

Sister, you were there for me in my darkest hours
Maybe you never knew it, but you’ve been my tower
