Mamas Arms

There was never any harm or cause for alarm

When mama held us in the crook of her arm

The most secure place we could ever be

Was in her arms when we were small babies

Mama always had a small child in her arms

Even in the kitchen while getting daddy’s biscuits warm

She was a multi-tasker before the phrase was coined

That’s just how my mama was and how her skills were honed

She never any babysitters would have hired

She just carried us around no matter how tired

Mama came from a big family and was the oldest child

She learned all she knew from watching her moms style

Mamas arms were the most loving place for a small babe to be

you could only have that pleasure before you turned two or three
