Life Matters

Life never mattered so much
Until you take away the ability to touch

The ease of movement your body makes
Not the sting of pain that movement takes

The sound of a voice, the syllables clear
Unless you lack the power to hear

The softness of shiny flowing hair
Pulled up with a ribbon to give it some flair

The clearness of vision, you see beauty for miles
Now glasses that search for the details and styles

Life never mattered in those easy days of youth, never sickly
We probably never dreamed we could use it up so quickly

Aging creeps up like a hunting lion for its prey
Effortless at first but now our balance won’t stay

So make each day count enjoy life the best you can
Before that day comes and it’s out of your hands

Yes, life never mattered so much…
