Iris name comes from the Greek word for rainbow
That’s something most people probably don’t know
Some say her name refers to her wide variety of colors
she’s a tough girl more so than all the others
She’s called the state flower of Tennessee
Bearded irises actually only have petals of three
The iris is often seen as a flower of royalty
Magnificent purples and blues, the colors of the sea
pinks, yellows red, and even one is the color of a peach tree
Out of all the flowers I’ve seen the Iris is the flower for me
