Goodbyes

The saying goodbyes are sad
You loved and gave life all you had

The time has ended for now
We will meet again somehow

Days of laughter and song
We always got along

The best years now are past
We knew they wouldn’t last

We spent our days so Easily
Plotting life what we thought it should be

The road ahead, it was always there
We didn’t see it, we didn’t care

Until it hit us right in the face
The here and now in this time and place

I’ll say goodbye because I must
But your memories I’ve laid up in trust
