Genes

Joel, Danny, Jeffrey, Bobby

Just a faded memory lurking
In my brain

Savored for a moment
such a sweet refrain

Takes me back to yesteryear
A glimpse of time so clear

Mother’s voice says, stand still boys
There’s plenty of time to play with toys

Blue Jeans brand spanking new
Four little boys, with no socks or shoes

Standing by the house all smiles
A memory that’s lasted me for miles

A warm summer day in early June
New blue jeans, they’ll be worn out soon

Mama, thanks for capturing the times
And places

Of my four little brothers’ sweet faces
