Fifteen

I had a beautiful big family of 14 altogether

But thanks to DNAs 23 and me I discovered another treasure

A brother I never knew how sad I had to do without

Knowing brother Glen would have been no doubt

An addition to my family, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be

Sometimes life doesn’t make sense to me

If my mother would have known she would have opened her arms wide

And said it’s ok Glen, there’s room for you to come inside

That sweet boy with haunting eyes like my dad

Must have been so sad when he was just a lad

Little boys love their moms, that’s the truth of the matter

But if they had the choice of mom or dad they might just choose the latter

One day I might get the chance to meet my brother Glen

I’ll have the opportunity to make up for back then

Sometimes life takes a turn and for sure I would never have seen

That instead of fourteen of us, there really was fifteen
