Choose Your Rut

Anyone who’s ever lived down a dirt road knows
How the condition of a road after a hard rain goes

When the first big truck with wide tires goes down it
It makes big ruts that never seem to quit

When the sun dries them out big hard ruts are made
They’re deep and wide and take weeks to fade

If you travel down that road right after that big truck
If you don’t straddle the rut you will get stuck

If you don’t your going to be there for a while
Or end up riding it for the next 17 miles

Life is sometimes like the path we choose
If you get in a rut you just might loose

So choose your rut carefully or wait till it fades
You might be thankful for the choice you made
