When April came calling
With Sunshine rain and flowers following
That year April brought us something grand
When aunt Marjorie arrived with a bag in her hand
With shouts of excitement, we begged what’s inside
So she pulled some things out and our eyes opened wide
Four beautiful dresses all brand spanking new
There was yellow and pink a green and one blue
Mom said go try them on but don’t dare get them dirty
I’m going to take your picture while you are looking so pretty
Our smiles must have been a half a mile wide
After she snapped it I saw her wipe her eyes
Her tears were not sad ones, no not on this day
Mom had taken our picture for future display
These four little girls would forever be recalling
That beautiful day when April came a calling
