Absence

It takes time for a broken heart to heal
So many emotions inside you can’t reveal

You make your face an upturned smile
Leaving sadness on the shelf for awhile

The heart is desperate. That’s true
It’s a fight to control my thinking of you

Life always carries the saying, “it’s not fair.”
It is hard to accept you are no longer there

I will move on and keep wishing
For what’s gone and now missing

I will hope for that day when everything is okay
When you finally will come back to stay
