A Chorus At Dawn

I will anxiously wait for the chorus at Dawn
The quietness of winters bareness, now gone

The most robust birds produce the
loudest and sharpest song
To alert their competition of the female birds
Singing, move along

The Dawn chorus sounds are for defending territories
In the bird world, that’s the best part of the story

The air is full of twittering and tweets
Through my window sounds so sweet

The Dawn chorus says, spring is near
Winters darkness is gone now skies are clear

Nature comes alive with a symphony of sounds
With the Dawn chorus of songs is heard all around

I will patiently wait as I watch the snowfall
With only the faint sound of the red birds call

Soon the Dawn chorus will announce spring is here
I will sit on my porch and listen to my favorite time of year
