And keep him safe when he’s in harm

A dogs a companion for a little boy
Holds up longer than all his toys

It doesn’t matter what time of day

He gives you a hug when you are down
He’ll stick close when no one else can be found

A little dog will help him through life’s journey ahead
A mom should say it’s ok, let him curl up on your bed

When the little boy grows up
He’ll get his son a little pup
