Fish To Fry

Sitting and fishing from the dock

Puts a memory in my head it’s easy to unlock

A walk through life causes me to think

That I would like to revisit those days when I would sink

A weighted line with a red and white corker on top

Dropped into the water so it wouldn’t make a big plop

Making a noisy sound as it hits the water

Will Causes all my big frying fish to scatter

It might take a while to lure that big cat

The best fish to eat, no arguing that

Catfish are tricky, they love a good minnow

Maybe because he still has a little bit of wiggle

When you see the cork bobbing up and down

Let him take it under before you bring him round

He’ll probably put up a pretty good fight

But so would you if it was your last night

Who doesn’t like mamas cornmeal fried catfish

So go out and sink a line don’t just sit and wish
