The Face in the Mirror
My morning place is where I went,
Another face had taken it.
A strange woman looked me in the eyes,
Familiar, yet in soft disguise.
I edged in closer for a better view,
As I drew near, she only trembled too.
I wondered why she’d come this day,
I asked her why, but she wouldn’t say.
At last I faced her, “Oh, it’s you,
I didn’t know you, wasn’t sure who.”
The aging process had taken place,
My reflection in the mirror, my own face.
Aging creeps upon us silently,
To be young again, how clear I see.
The face in the mirror will change, as in youth,
Our God has promised, and that is the truth.
Until then, I do have a plan,
I will smile and look again
